Đại Nghĩa — Great Justice, Practical Guidance
Đại Nghĩa was established in 2009 by a small group of commercial lawyers who had grown frustrated with a persistent gap in the Vietnamese legal market: businesses needed clear, structured legal support, but most firms defaulted to opaque processes and inaccessible language.
The founding principle was straightforward — every client should finish each interaction understanding more than when they arrived. That meant explaining every clause, every implication, every option. It still does.
Over fifteen years later, that founding principle shapes every engagement we take on. We work exclusively on commercial matters — lease agreements, business disputes, and legal health assessments — where clear thinking and careful communication make a genuine difference to outcomes.
Our Mission
To make commercial legal support accessible and comprehensible for businesses at every stage — removing uncertainty, not adding to it.
Our Vision
A Vietnam where businesses make sound legal decisions because they understand them — not because they were told what to do.
Our Values
Transparency in process. Honesty in assessment. Respect for the client's time, resources, and right to understand their own legal situation.

How We Work
Professional Standards
Vietnamese Bar Association
All advisors hold active practice certificates issued by the Ho Chi Minh City Bar Association, maintaining current registration and continuing legal education requirements.
Client Confidentiality
Strict internal access controls govern all client files. Information is shared only with team members directly involved in the engagement, and never to third parties without explicit consent.
Written Engagement Letters
Every engagement begins with a written letter confirming scope, fees, timeline, and responsibilities — so both parties are aligned before any work commences.
Regular Progress Updates
Clients receive structured updates at agreed intervals throughout each engagement — no disappearing between milestones, no surprises at the conclusion.
Ethical Practice Standards
We follow the professional conduct rules of the Vietnam Lawyers Association, with particular attention to conflict-of-interest management and independence of advice.
Document Retention
Client documents are retained for the period required by Vietnamese law, with secure disposal procedures upon expiry. Clients may request copies of their own materials at any time.
Business Legal Knowledge, Applied Consistently
Commercial legal work in Vietnam involves navigating a regulatory environment that continues to evolve. Lease frameworks have shifted. Arbitration pathways have matured. Corporate compliance expectations have expanded. The Đại Nghĩa team keeps pace with these changes through ongoing education, peer engagement, and active membership in Vietnamese legal professional bodies.
We take a measured approach: assess what actually exists in your documents and arrangements, identify where exposure lies, explain what it means in operational terms, and outline the realistic paths forward. That approach applies equally to a two-week lease advisory engagement and a twelve-week full legal audit.
The name Đại Nghĩa — meaning great justice — reflects the aspiration behind the practice: that legal support should serve the client's understanding as much as their interests.
